Culling ("we", "our", or "the App") is a photo and video management app developed by NirHeaven. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

1. Information We Collect

We do not operate servers that store your photos, videos, or personal profile.

Culling runs primarily on your device. Specifically:

• Photos and Videos: Culling accesses your photo library only with your explicit permission through Apple's PhotoKit framework. Your photos and videos are never uploaded to our servers. Image processing, similarity detection, compression, and on-device search indexing all happen locally.
• Search Queries: When you use voice or text photo search, Culling builds search embeddings on your device. On some devices, your search text (not photos) may be sent to a third-party language service to translate or refine the query when on-device options are unavailable. Image data is never included in these requests.
• Usage Data: Cleaning statistics (number of photos reviewed, storage freed, etc.) are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. We have no access to this data.
• Preferences: Your app settings (swipe direction mappings, language preferences) are stored locally on your device.

2. iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud backup in the App, your settings and cleaning statistics may be synced across your devices via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. This data is managed entirely by Apple's iCloud infrastructure and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

No photo data, identifiers, or media content is included in iCloud backups made by Culling.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

Culling offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions processed through Apple's App Store. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat may receive anonymized transaction data from Apple. For details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

We do not collect your name, email, payment card details, or any personally identifiable financial information.

4. Third-Party Services

Culling integrates the following third-party services:

• Apple PhotoKit: For on-device photo library access.
• Apple iCloud (NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore): For optional settings backup.
• RevenueCat: For subscription and purchase management.
• Language services (optional): For translating or refining search queries on devices without on-device alternatives. Only text queries are sent; never photos.

We do not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

5. Data Retention

We do not maintain a central database of your personal data. All app data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account. Deleting the app removes all local data. iCloud data can be managed through your device's iCloud settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Culling does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. The App does not require account creation or personal information of any kind.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any changes.
